Vintage Meets Modern with Lulu Frost Pieces

The Lulu Frost jewelry line was created by designer Lisa Salazar, who found inspiration for her vintage style line from her family. Salazar inherited her eye for high-end vintage and estate jewelry from her maternal grandmother and her involvement in the jewelry business. Salazar’s family has been involved in jewelry for several generations, and her experiences with jewelry growing up are what led her to create Lulu Frost in 2004.

Lulu Frost truly took off after Salazar created the Plaza Collection. This iconic collection incorporated genuine brass room numbers from New York’s oldest and most revered hotel, The Plaza.
Lulu Frost jewelry continues to include this vintage style by using rhinestone brooches and art deco jewelry finds. The style is very reminiscent of the 1920s, but also includes modern touches that make them wearable and trendy today.

Here is a peek at some of the vintage-meets-modern Lulu Frost pieces:

Lulu Frost Tassel Necklace

Tassel necklaces are a hot trend right now, and this Lulu Frost piece is the perfect way to rock the trend. The brass chain tassel hangs from a long multi chain brass necklace and exudes vintage with the added detail of a floral pendant.

Lulu Frost Cork-Board Double Brooch Necklace
Statement necklaces and bib style necklaces are also extremely trendy and popular at the moment. Lulu Frost gets it right again with this double brooch bib necklace! The brass mesh includes two rhinestone brooches, which vary by necklace because they are vintage finds. The brooches are also detachable, so you can wear the extra bling or opt not to.

Men’s Jewelry: King Baby Studio, Scott Kay and Thomas Sabo

For many years men and jewelry were rarely used in the same sentence unless you were referring to a wedding band. However, in recent years men are accessorizing more and more with great jewelry pieces. We love to provide men with a wide range of jewelry choices to expand their collection. Our most popular brands are King Baby Studio, Scott Kay, and Thomas Sabo Jewelry.

King Baby Studio was started by a young jewelers apprentice and became popular after celebrities took notice of his edgy designs and unique metal jewelry creations. His bold line of men’s jewelry pieces features chunky sterling silver cufflinks, skull & cross bone encrusted dog tags, leather chains with hardcore pendants and many more manly options. You don’t have to be a rocker or biker to enjoy the uniqueness of King Baby Studio.

Scott Kay has a similar style but with a 17th century inspiration. It’s known for its thick, heavy, highly wrought, masculine pieces with 17th century style engravings. Every piece is as unique as it is luxurious. The Scott Kay cufflink selection is a great way to dress up any outfit. Many of the cufflink pairs coordinate but do not necessarily match, creating a unique look. Necklaces with larger pendants are also very prominent in this men’s jewelry line.

The Thomas Sabo Sterling Silver collection captures an array of emotions that have fueled the past twenty-five years of designs. The motto of the current collection is “Love & Peace.” The three collections offered are the Seasonal collection, Rebel at Heart, and Classic Jewelry. The Rebel at Heart collection is a unisex collection that has a variety of pieces men love to wear. These pieces have more of a masculine edge to them and feature biker and rocker themes.

All of our collections are offered in store and online. Be sure to come see us at our NorthPark jewelry store and use your 10% off offer on our edgy designer jewelry.

Styling Your Pandora Bracelet

Pandora bracelets are a fantastic addition to your jewelry collection. They’re easy to personalize, versatile, and allow you to change out charms easily when you feel like its time to mix it up. Here are a few basic steps to styling your Pandora bracelet.

Pick a Theme. First, you should decide what you want the theme of your bracelet to be. Some people choose to select beads that tell about their lives, while others pick a distinct theme for the bracelet. Your theme could be a color, an idea, or even a place. Pandora has a large selection of beads to choose from to make your bracelet special.

Choose your Bracelet. Next, choose what style of bracelet you want. Pandora makes bracelets in gold, silver, and leather. Depending on your taste and the theme you’ve decided to go with, choose the right one for you.

Pick your Charms. Once you decide on what your theme is and which bracelet is best for you, it’s time to pick out your clips and beads. Clips are beads that snap on to the bracelet and stay in place instead of twisting on and moving around like normal beads. These help to divide the bracelet and keep the beads in place. Pandora offers many beads of different shapes and sizes as well as different materials, such as gold, silver, glass, enamel, and pavĂ©. While you may not be planning on buying all of your beads at one time, it’s important to keep your final goal in mind and use that plan to help choose which beads you buy first.

If you’re looking for edgy designer jewelry, come visit us at SWAG in the NorthPark Center. We are a Pandora retailer in Dallas. Or check out our website for trendy jewelry you’ll love!

Victorian Style: Extasia Jewelry

Victorian style, or Victorian fashion, is derived from the trends in British culture during the reign of Queen Victoria. The Victoria era lasted about two-thirds of the 19th century and saw many different changes in style. The jewelry style that emerged from that era is one that can still be seen mixed into many modern designs. No designer exhibits this style better than Extasia Jewelry. Some obvious design elements inspired by the Victoria era and seen in Extasia Jewelry include glass intaglios, cameos, and hand-carved details.

Glass Intaglios and Cameos
Hand-carved glass intaglios and cameos were extremely rare at the beginning of the 19th century. They were treasured possessions that could only be found adorning the exceptionally wealthy class. Shell cameos began to see a resurgence in popularity once it became easier to carve shells over stone. Intaglios and cameos became increasingly popular once the industrial revolution began and manufacturing techniques made production easier and more affordable. Machines could make chains, press glass, and stamp metal. The nobility were no longer the only ones with these beautiful pieces of jewelry accenting their wardrobes.

Charm Bracelets

Part of Extasia’s line features charm bracelets with cameos, intaglios, and other handcrafted pieces. Queen Victoria herself is popularly credited with popularizing the charm bracelet and charm necklace.

While thousands of words and hundreds of books have been penned on the topics of Victorian jewelry, there are a few main points that are true to the era and to the design of Extasia Jewelry:
• There is a strong focus on figurative motifs and sentimental subject matter, hence the cameos often being carved to the likeness of a loved one, or gifting someone with a personalized charm bracelet.

• The style commonly uses unusual materials (such as colorful beading), innovative techniques, non-precious stones, and production manufactured metal work.

Shop our NorthPark jewelry store, SWAG, to find the perfect Extasia piece for your personal style. We also carry trendy jewelry and edgy designer jewelry.
